BBC Bosses have been blasted for the huge salaries paid to its ‘top stars’ and ordered to cut the payouts it gives to the likes of Graham Norton (£5 Million) and Jonathan Ross. (£18 Million)

Makes you wonder how they’ll cope…

OK, guilty as charged. I’m a big fan of US show ‘24′. Silly, over-the-top, but very addictive. It has just been reported that star of the show, Kiefer Sutherland, has been arrested on a drink-drive charge after failing a breath test…

As a ‘24′ fan, I was trying to think how he might start making a statement to the Police…

A new version of Monopoly has been released in which cities and towns across Britain take the place of London street names after a vote by more than one million people.

St. Albans replaces the most expensive property on the board – Mayfair, while Liverpool replaces the cheapest – Old Kent Road.

Can’t think why…

The Lady IS for Returning… September 15, 2007

Haven’t had much chance to get on the blog this week and do anything, especially not concerning the two ‘big’ Downing Street stories of the week. (If you believe the press coverage)

Firstly, The Chancellor has brought his Cat – Sybil (a female cat named after Sybil Fawlty) – to live in his flat above No. 10 , and then Gordon invited Baroness Thatcher over for Tea and Cake – much to the dismay of the Conservatives. (as they’d already taken a party loan out to buy some Battenburg)

Given all this high profile and high volume traffic through the door, a small suggestion to No. 10 for future occasions…

Both ‘news’ stories can be found HERE for the Old Cat, and HERE for the Old Bat. Both stories via the Telegraph website.

So, one of the new arrivals to Downing Street this week was a solitary animal, sometimes friendly to others, but always with the ability to unleash its claws when remorselessly hunting and feeding on the life of innocent creatures within its territory, and has perfected the art over a long period of time of laying in wait for her prey and establishing herself as a lone predator…

…and the other is a Cat

Between a Northern Rock and a Hard Place… September 15, 2007

With unstable markets in the US during recent weeks, the pinch is now starting to be felt over here.  Although constant reassurances that customer’s money is ’safe’, it appears not everyone believes what they are told and are deciding with their feet, after Northern Rock takes out an emergency loan from the Bank of England…

As a bit of a movie buff, it’s always nice when little titbits of information on upcoming films get out into the general domain, and it appears that the new title for the next Indiana Jones film – ‘Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ – was confirmed last night by cast members.

A brief mock up of a possible scene to expect given here…

The Sun Keeps Its Word… September 8, 2007

Following on from THIS blog entry a few weeks ago, just a quick update to confirm that the Sun delivered on their promise, and full payment for their use of the Spice Girls parody ‘viral’ pic printed in both the online and printed Newspaper has been made.

Communications with various people at the Sun went suprisingly smoothly, (in comparison with the endless – and fruitless – conversations with EMAP over the use of viral pics) and everything has reached a nice conclusion, with the possibility of further dealings with the Sun if I wish.

Nice to know that some people can do the right thing and have no little or no trouble in doing so.

Quick mention again to both Tim at Bloggerheads and Neil at Beau Bo D’Or who really enabled the whole thing to get to this point – resolved and on good terms. Thanks again guys.

Thanks to keeping up with all the latest goings on over at Beau Bo D’Or’s site and in particular, this post, it seems that the campaign for Boris to become mayor of London starts today. Having a look at his campaign banners, posters and downloadable campaign material, I couldn’t resist a cheap gag as follows…
